In 2022, the Calapya Dragon Boat Race team was launched with sponsorship from the City of Ridgefield. We raced together for 3 years, improving and growing each year. Last year, the City of Ridgefield had to step away from their partnership because they no longer had the capacity or infrastructure to maintain the program as the boats they have are not fit for competitive training. The existing dragon boat team decided it was time to take over the program that the City of Ridgefield had developed and nurtured. A not-for-profit corporation was formed, we got our 501c(3) exemption, and now we are looking for partners. Join us as we grow this exciting program and help us with our commitment to community, wellness and FUN!
Fundraising Plan:
Our fundraising plan has 2 parts. The first part is a capital funds campaign to acquire boats and the equipment needed to help our dragon boat race team grow. The second part will be fundraising events designed to help with community engagement.
